Curbside Recycling

Coralville picks up curbside recycling the same day as garbage.


All curbside recycling containers must be City-issued yellow bins with black lids. Each home may have two recycling bins upon request.  The bins may be checked out at City Hall at no charge. If your bin is lost, stolen, or damaged, you are responsible for the cost of a replacement bin ($15). If you move, please leave the recycling bin at your service address.


Whether using one or two containers, recyclables must be sorted.  How to sort

If using two containers, please separate recyclable items using one bin for paper and cardboard and the other bin for metals and plastics.  

Recycling Program Discontinues Glass Collection

Coralville’s curbside and drop-off recycling program no longer accepts glass as a result of the declining market for glass collected through the program. The recycling program is supported by solid waste fees and revenue from the sale of recycled items. Items collected that are not marketable increase program costs.
