Community Meal

Friday, June 1, 2018

Gather with friends and neighbors on the library lawn for a free, locally-sourced, summertime meal provided by CPL and the Coralville Community Food Pantry.

Enjoy the meal and family activities, including live music on the lawn from the Pandelirium Steel Drum Band and extended hours at the library! If the weather is bad, the meal and all events will be moved inside the library.

The Pandelirium Steel Drum Band performs on instruments cut and hammered from 55 gallon oil barrels and their performances include a  blend of musical styles ranging from traditional Calypsos and Soccas of Trinidad to Reggae, arrangements of popular songs, and jazz standards. The quartet is based in Iowa City and is made up of current and former members of the PanAmerican Steel Drum Band from the University of Iowa. They have performed at numerous venues in Iowa, including the Iowa City Jazz Festival, Iowa Corn Daze, the Marion Swamp Fox Festival, and  RAGBRAI.

Also this summer watch the library’s website for Books and Beats, more Friday afternoon music inside the library - because Libraries Rock!
