Coralville Police Chief Shane Kron has announced the following promotions effective April 3, 2017:
Promoted to Lieutenant: William Clarahan
Bill joined the Coralville Police Department in January of 1995. During his 22 year career, Bill has held assignments as a field training officer, Emergency Response Team member, and Drug Task Force officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2007 and was supervising the PM shift at the time of his promotion to lieutenant. Bill has a BS in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and is a 2012 graduate of the University of Louisville-Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course. Lieutenant Clarahan will command the patrol division.
Promoted to Sergeant: Jereme Sutton
Jereme joined the Coralville Police Department in 1999 after four years as an officer in Ottumwa and one year as a deputy for Black Hawk County. He is a certified firearms instructor and the team leader for the Emergency Response Team. Jereme is a 1996 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Criminology. Sergeant Sutton will supervise the PM shift.
