Celebrate the end of summer with music, food, children’s activities, and local brews at Coralville’s 5th Street Social on Saturday, August 19.  A portion of the proceeds benefits the Coralville Parks and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund.

Enjoy music and activities on 5th Street between 6th and 10th Avenues on Saturday, August 19:

  • Kids’ Zone, 4:00-8:00 pm: Free fun for kids, including bounce houses and craft activities.
  • Fun for Everyone: Giant Jenga, giant tic tac toe, bags games, and ping pong.
  • Food Trucks, starting at 4:00 pm: Buy a bite to eat from a local vendor (30 Hop, Maestro’s Empanadas, Marco’s Grilled Cheese, Mosley’s, and Tacos Don Diego).
  • Live Music, 4:00-10:00 pm: Kick up your heels and dance to live music on 5th Street. At 4:00 pm, Plastic Relations, a locally-grown cover band, opens the stage. At 6:00 pm, David Zolo and The Body Electric perform their mix of rock, blues, soul, gospel, and honkey-tonk. At 8:00 pm, country singer-songwriter Tasji Bachman performs.
  • Beverage Garden, 4:00-10:00 pm: A two block area is enclosed as a beverage garden, featuring craft beer for $5 from four Johnson County craft breweries (Backpocket Brewing, Big Grove Brewery, ReUnion Brewery, and Sutliff Cider). IDs checked. Cash only. Due to state law, alcoholic beverages must remain in the beverage garden.

A temporary street closure on 5th Street between 6th and 10th Avenues is scheduled.
