Citizens Police Academy Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the annual Johnson County Citizens Police Academy. Get to know your local law enforcement agencies and gain insight into how the departments operate, the services they provide to the community, and the techniques and tools they utilize to do their job.

The Citizens Police Academy will meet once a week for 14 weeks. Sessions will be held every Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm from January 22 until April 23, 2018 at the Johnson County Emergency Communications Center at 4529 Melrose Avenue in Iowa City.

Applications and more information are available at www.coralville.org/CitizensPoliceAcademy or at the Coralville Police Department, Iowa City Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, North Liberty Police Department, and University of Iowa Police Department. Due to class size, participants are selected by application.  Applications must be received by 5:00 pm on Monday, January 15, 2018 to be considered.
