Weekly project meetings with contractors and City staff regarding Coralville’s 1st Avenue I-JOBS flood recovery and protection projects are held Thursdays at City Hall and are open to the public.

1st Avenue Bridge over Clear Creek: Thursdays at 1:30 pm

• Project includes new bridge with five lanes, wide sidewalks on both sides, and a trail underpass of 1st Avenue


• The First Avenue Bridge is reduced to one lane in each direction


• All five lanes expected open by end of 2010

1st Avenue Reconstruction: Thursdays at 2:30 pm

• Project includes widening1st Avenue to five lanes from Clear Creek north to 6th Street, wide sidewalks, lighting, and streetscaping improvements


• First Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction


• Access to businesses is maintained at all times


• All five lanes expected open by end of 2010
  

1st Avenue Corridor Flood Protection: Every other Thursday at 9:30 am

• Meeting dates are July 15 and 29, August 12 and 26, September 9 and 23, October 7 and 21, November 4 and 18, December 2 and 16


• Project includes flood berms, flood walls, and three stormwater pump stations


• Project duration: June 2010 through Spring 2011

I-JOBS Flood Recovery & Protection / Iowa River Landing Wetlands Park Improvements: Every other Thursday at 10:30 am

• Meeting dates are July 15 and 29, August 12 and 26, September 9 and 23, October 7 and 21, November 4 and 18, December 2 and 16


• Project includes permanent and removable flood walls, improvements to existing wetlands park, elevated walkway through wetlands, trails, and park restroom


• Project duration: May 2010 through Summer 2011
