In making the recommendation, Hayworth noted, “Orey’s experience both as a volunteer firefighter and as an officer in the Coralville Fire Department have prepared him well for the job of chief. He has deep roots in Coralville and is clearly dedicated and committed to public safety and our community.”
Schwitzer’s appointment is pending approval of the Coralville City Council at a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 12, at 6:30 pm at Coralville City Hall, 1512 7th Street.
