The Coralville Public Library Celebrates Summer Reading Fun

Families will experience plenty of reading enjoyment this summer by taking part in Coralville Public Library’s "A Universe of Stories" summer reading programs for all ages.

Registration begins on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:00-6:30 pm at the library, 1401 5th Street, and includes free ice cream. Registration will continue throughout the summer. A combination of events at the library, along with at-home participation, promises to be an exciting summer for all:

  • Children can create, learn, explore, and read through weekly events, stories, crafts, and out-of-this-world guest performances. Children younger than age 3 who complete the reading program will receive a board book; preschoolers through students in sixth grade will earn a t-shirt sponsored by Hills Bank.
  • For teens, an action-packed summer full of games, movies, scavenger hunts, crafts, contests, and great prizes awaits at the library.
  • Adults can read or listen to just six books of their choice to be entered into a drawing for prizes, including a tablet and gift certificates to local bookstores. In addition, all who complete the program will receive a coupon for a free book at a Friends of the Coralville Public Library book sale. Adults can also enjoy a free summer film series, "A Universe of Movies!"
