Beat the Heat: Where to Cool off in Coralville

The City of Coralville offers several public facilities where residents can cool off when outdoor temperatures are on the rise:

Coralville Community Aquatic Center
Coralville's outdoor pool features zero-depth entry, three slides (including a space bowl and an open flume body slide), diving boards, a splash deck with fountains and play structures, on-deck shaded seating, and a full service concession stand.

    • Monday-Friday, 11:00 am-8:00 pm
    • Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Special Hours:
    • July 3:  11:00 am-6:00 pm
    • July 4:   1:00 pm-6:00 pm
    • August 22: 11:00 am-6:00 pm
  • Admission: $5.00 per person until 6:00 pm; $3.00 per person after 6:00 pm; free admission for children under the age of two

Coralville Indoor Pool 
The Indoor Pool is 25 yards long and 8 lanes wide and features an additional shallow end, a 14-foot tall poolside climbing wall, separate wading pool, and a whirlpool spa. The pool includes lap swim, open swim, and family swim times.

Coralville Recreation Center
The Recreation Center is air conditioned and offers a number of indoor recreational opportunities, including facilities for basketball, racquetball, or volleyball; an exercise room; and a game room full of entertaining activities, including foosball, pool, video games, and vending machines.

Coralville Public Library
The Library is air conditioned and offers a variety of services, programs, and materials for all ages including summer reading programs, book discussions, movies, special events, and more. The New Pi Co-op Café in the Coralville Public Library offers coffee, smoothies, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and more, is open the same hours as the library.
