Candidate Filing Information for Coralville City Election

Coralville 2019 Election

The Office of Mayor and two City Council positions will be on the ballot for the 2019 Coralville city election on November 5. 

Running for Office
Candidates running for Coralville City Council or Mayor may officially declare their candidacy by filing nomination papers with the Johnson County Auditor during the filing period from August 26 through September 19, 2019, at 5:00 pm. 

Coralville's nomination process is nomination by petition, with one election. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 25 signatures from registered voters residing in Coralville on their petitions. Nomination papers can be picked up at the Johnson County Auditor's Office, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City, or at the Iowa Secretary of State website.

  • City Council meetings (held at City Hall at 6:30 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise noted) and work sessions (following most Council meetings), are open to the public.
