Schedule a Curbside Trash Pick-Up


Curbside pick-up is available upon request. The charges will be added to your utility bill.

To schedule a special garbage pickup:
  • Call the Streets Department at 319.248.1740 or 319.248.1799 during business hours, or
  • Complete and submit an online request for pickup.
Coralville also offers Mayor's Clean Up Week in the spring and fall for free disposal of large, broken items.

Appliances & Electronics


Broken appliances and electronics are picked up by appointment on the last consecutive Thursday and Friday of each month.

Tires


Tires are picked up by appointment on the last consecutive Thursday and Friday of each month.

What If It's Not Trash?


The garbage is for items that need to be thrown away and cannot be reused. Do not send usable items to the landfill.

Where to Donate Usable Items


Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore
  • Accepts furniture and building/housing materials. ReStore sells the items to be reused and proceeds support Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity; donations are tax-deductible. Items should be in reusable, resellable condition.
  • Free pickup or drop-off is available. 
  • Located at 2401 Scott Boulevard SE, Iowa City.

Houses into Homes Program
  • Accepts new or gently used mattresses, box springs, furniture, and household items. Houses into Homes provides these items to families and individuals who are exiting homelessness, domestic violence, and other crisis situations.
  • Free pickup or drop-off is available.

Goodwill
  • Accepts new or gently used furniture, clothing, and household items to Goodwill for resale; check to see what items are accepted. Donations are tax-deductible.
  • Free drop-off is available in bins and at stores.

Coralville Recycle Swap Day
  • Donate or take clean, usable items as a form of recycling. Leftover items are donated to non-profit organizations.
  • Held one Saturday each spring at Coralville City Hall.
  • Drop-off items on the day of the event.
