The City Council of the City of Coralville is accepting applications for appointments to the following Boards and Commissions:
Board of Adjustment (5-year term): 3 positions
The City of Coralville has three openings on the Board of Adjustment. This board approves or denies variances of the Coralville Zoning Regulations, hears appeals of people aggrieved or affected by decisions of the Zoning Administrator, and decides if special exception uses of property are acceptable. Coralville Arts Commission (3-year term): 3 positions
The City of Coralville has three openings on the Coralville Arts Commission. This commission recommends and reviews policies, rules, regulations, ordinances and budgets relating to the Center for the Performing Arts and cultural functions of the City and makes such reports to the Council as the Commission deems in the public interest. Parks & Recreation Commission (3-year term): 3 positions
The City of Coralville has three openings on the Parks & Recreation Commission. This commission recommends and reviews policies, rules, regulations, ordinances and budgets relating to parks, playgrounds, recreational services and cultural functions of the City and makes such reports to the Council as the Commission deems is in the public interest. Planning & Zoning Commission (5-year term): 2 positions
(One position is for a partial term ending December 31, 2021)
The City of Coralville has two openings on the Planning and Zoning Commission. This commission reviews and comments on Street, Park, or Public Improvements as well as plans, plats and re-plats of subdivisions or re-subdivisions in or around the City limits. The Commission shall send its recommendations to the Council before there is a vote on these issues. It exercises all powers, duties and privileges in establishing the City Zoning Regulations and other related matters. (Code Book; CH. 23) Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Coralville citizens interested in being considered for any of these positions may pick up an application at Coralville City Hall Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm or download an application.
