Coralville Indoor Pool Temporarily Closed Due to Mechanical Issues

Indoor Pool

Updated September 21, 2020:
We have repaired the broken pipe that was unfortunately under the pool. This required digging through our pool basin to make the repair. We have made the repair and have poured the concrete.

Once the concrete cures, we can caulk and paint the repaired area, and allow the necessary time for the paint and caulk to cure. This will be followed by clean up, adding water, and then balancing and shocking the pool water before the pool can reopen. The Indoor Pool is expected to reopen in late October, pending repairs.

Original release:

The Coralville Indoor Pool is temporarily closed until further notice due to a leak in the indoor piping. An exact timeline for repairs is not yet available, but it is estimated that the closure may last one month due to the location of the leak.

The Parks and Recreation Department is working to get the repair completed as quickly as possible. Pool pass holders will be contacted, and pool passes will be extended. For more information, please contact the Recreation Center at 319.248.1750.
