Coralville’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget covers City operations and projects from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
Maximum Property Tax LevyAll cities in Iowa must pass an additional resolution each budget year establishing their maximum property tax dollars for levy. That resolution (number 2022-14) was passed unanimously by the City Council at its regular meeting at 6:30 pm on February 8, 2022. The City Council did not propose a change to the property tax levy rate this year. View resolution

Rate ChangesThe proposed FY2023 budget includes a water rate increase for both residential and commercial rates beginning July 1, 2022. This will finance future water system improvements and capacity, and is the first of several anticipated increases.
The proposed FY2023 budget also includes a solid waste rate increase beginning July 1, 2022, to fund increased operating costs and compensate for lower values for recyclable materials. This is the first of several anticipated increases.

Once approved, the budget will be officially filed with the State and the Johnson County Auditor by March 31, 2022.
Anyone is welcome to attend the City Council meeting and participate in public hearings or speak during community comments. Coralville City Council meetings are open to all individuals regardless of language spoken or disability.
