[ARCHIVED] City of Coralville Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

The City of Coralville will observe the following schedule during the Thanksgiving holiday:

City Offices
City Hall and Administrative Offices of Fire and Police, along with the Parks, Water, Wastewater, Streets and Sanitation Departments, will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, 2022.

The Coralville Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25. The Library will be open for services during normal business hours on Saturday, November 26.

Recreation Center & Indoor Pool
The Recreation Center and the Indoor Pool will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25. The Recreation Center and Indoor Pool will be open normal business hours Saturday, November 26. A detailed Indoor Pool schedule with lap swim and open swim times can be found at

There will be no Coralville Transit service Thursday, November 24. Transit service will run a Saturday route and schedule on Friday, November 25, and Saturday, November 26.

Coralville Center for the Performing Arts
The Coralville Center for the Performing Arts box office will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25. Tickets are available online at

Trash & Recycling Collection
Trash and recycling will be picked up on a regular schedule for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday routes for November 21-23. 

Please note the following dates for the week of Thanksgiving and the week after for trash and recycling collection: 

  • Thursday, November 24 will be picked up Monday, November 28.
  • Monday, November 28 will be picked up Tuesday, November 29.
  • Tuesday, November 29 will be picked up Wednesday, November 30.
  • Wednesday, November 30 will be picked up Thursday, December 1.
  • Thursday, December 1 will be picked up Friday, December 2.

The Coralville Drop-Off Recycling Center at 950 Hughes Street is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  As always, trash and recycling should be at the curb by 7:00 am the day of collection. Appliances and electronics will be picked up by appointment on Thursday, November 17 and Friday, November 18. For questions about trash and recycling collection, please call 319.248l1740.
