Yard waste collection season in Coralville typically lasts until late November, weather permitting. If you have leaves or other fall yard waste to get rid of, now is the time to set it out.
Weather permitting, yard waste season in Coralville will end the week of November 28, 2022, with the last day of yard waste collection on Friday, December 2, 2022. Note that trash, recycling, and yard waste collection for all routes the week of November 28 is one day later than usual all week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The end of the yard waste pickup season is dependent upon the weather and may end prior to Friday, December 2, based on snow, ice, and temperatures. Residents are encouraged to set out remaining yard waste as soon as possible. Once the extended forecast indicates snow or ice, the yard waste collection program will be suspended until next spring so crews and equipment can be available for snow plowing and winter road treatment.
This year, snowfall arrived before the end of our yard waste season. Yard waste collection may be delayed on snowy or icy days while the program is still in effect. Crews must focus on clearing and treating roads for winter conditions first, and then collect yard waste.
