The Camp Cardinal Boulevard segment between James Street and Highway 6 is now open to traffic.
The construction of the new trail along Camp Cardinal Boulevard is now substantially complete, but the trail will remain closed until the pedestrian safety rail along the Moove In Storage parking lot is installed. The safety rail is expected to be installed during the last week of June.

Previous release:
Weather permitting, Camp Cardinal Boulevard will be closed from just north of the east leg of James Street to Highway 6/2nd Street beginning Thursday, April 27, for trail construction and railroad track replacement. (Please note: the closure was originally expected to begin on Tuesday, April 25, but the date changed).
Access to all businesses on James Street will be maintained throughout the entire duration of the closure.
Camp Cardinal Boulevard is expected to re-open by the end of the day on June 1. The new trail connection between the Tom Harkin Trailhead and Highway 6 is expected to open by end of June.
