What's Open, What's Closed on Veterans Day

Free bus rides for veterans

Friday, November 11

In honor of Veterans Day, City offices and the Library will be closed on November 11.

Coralville Transit will run normal routes and schedules. On November 11, veterans can ride Coralville Transit for free, and eligible veterans can ride ADA paratransit service for free; veterans should show a military ID when boarding the bus. Learn more

Annual Legislative Open House

Tuesday, November 22 | 4:00-6:00 pm 

Legislators will be at City Hall to share their views on the upcoming sessions and answer questions. This event is open to the public. Please join us!  Learn more

Are Your Leaves Falling?

Pick up biodegradable yard waste bags for $1 each at Coralville Hy-Vee, Lowe’s, Theisen’s, and City Hall. Annual yard waste stickers can be purchased for $25 at City Hall. Or, skip raking and mulch or compost leaves to feed your lawn or garden naturally! Yard waste collection runs through November 30 or the first snowfall, whichever comes first. Learn more

Seven City commissions accepting applications

Engaging in local government is one way to impact the community in which you live. Applications for positions on the Board of Adjustment, Broadband Telecommunications Commission, Arts Commission, Civil Service Commission, Library Board of Trustees, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Planning and Zoning Commission are being accepted through 5:00 pm on November 23. Orchestra Iowa Masterworks: A Night in Prague

In a nod to the Czech history abounding in eastern Iowa, this offers a musical exploration of a heritage deeply embedded within our communities.

Sweets with Santa

Friday, November 25 | 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, & 3:00 pm

Decorate your own holiday cookie and have your photo taken with Santa amidst fanciful trees and wreaths. Held at Brown Deer Golf Club.

Festival of Trees

Saturday, November 26 | 6:30 pm

Kick off the holiday season with food, fun, festive performances, and holiday decor. This supports many programs of the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Held at Brown Deer Golf Club.
