Road Reconstruction Progresses1st Avenue traffic control, 6th Street newsA traffic control change for southbound 1st Avenue approaching E. 9th Street maximizes lane capacity and gets drivers through road reconstruction as efficiently as possible: - To turn left onto E. 9th Street, be in the left lane immediately after the I-80 eastbound off ramp.
- To continue south through the work zone, be in the right lane.
- The two lanes are separated by channelizing devices immediately south of the off-ramp, so pay attention to the signs.
The 6th Street connection to 1st Avenue is scheduled to re-open in early to mid-September. 1st Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction from just south of 6th Street to just south of 9th Street. Reconstruction on the west half of the project should be substantially complete by late September, and then work will begin on the east half. 1st Avenue improvements
