Celebrate 4thFest in Coralville

About 4thFest

We're counting down the days until our annual 4th of July celebration! 4thFest 2019 honors the 90th anniversary of the Coralville Fire Department. Most events will be held in S.T. Morrison Park. About 4thFest

4thFest 5K

Saturday, June 29 

Kick off the festivities early with the annual 5K at 8:00 am, followed by the kids' mini-marathon. 4thFest 5K


Free concert: The Sidewinders open for

Journey former lead vocalist Steve Augeri

Wednesday, July 3

Bring blankets and lawn chairs for a free outdoor concert: The Sidewinders (a 4thFest crowd favorite) open the show at 6:30 pm. Then, Journey former lead vocalist Steve Augeri brings his signature blend of rock and soul to the stage when he performs at 8:00 pm. Free concert


Carnival, food, & booths

Wednesday & Thursday, July 3 & 4

Stop by S.T. Morrison Park for fun and food! 4thFest welcomes a new carnival to Coralville this year, and food and booths will be in the park. 4thFest events

Pancakes, parade, & fireworks

Thursday, July 4

Start Independence Day with the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast, see the area's largest 4th of July parade, enjoy free family-friendly activities in the park, listen to the patriotic sounds of the Iowa City Community Band, and watch spectacular fireworks at dark. 4thFest events


City Hall

What's Open, What's Closed on Independence Day

Thursday, July 4

City offices, the library, and Coralville Transit bus service will be closed on July 4.


Trash, recycling, & yard waste schedule

Trash, recycling, and yard waste will be picked up as usual during the week of July 1 on every day except Thursday: Thursday routes will be picked up on Friday, July 5.

Coral Ridge Ave improvements

Construction Update

Coral Ridge Avenue

The last stretch of work on Coral Ridge Avenue from Oakdale Boulevard to Forevergreen Road continues. Crews are working to complete the Coral Ridge Avenue left turn lanes at Wheaton Road, center median brick pavers, crosswalks, and trail paving near the pedestrian underpass tunnel.

Traffic will remain one lane northbound and one lane southbound until later in June, with intermittent lane reductions expected through July.

Set in turn-of-the century New York City and based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, NEWSIES is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged "newsies," who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets.

Honk! Jr.: A Musical Tale of the Ugly Duckling

June 28-30

Presented by Young Footliters Youth Theatre. With a memorable score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), this heartwarming celebration of being different will delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit and unique charm.

What's Happening at the Library

Free community meal

Friday, June 21 | 5:00-7:00 pm

All are invited to come to the Coralville Public Library to share a free meal and fun evening together. The Coralville Community Food Pantry and its team of community volunteers will be grilling for carnivores and vegetarians alike, and serving locally-sourced sides.

Bring family, friends, neighbors, and a blanket or lawn chair. There will be family-friendly activities, including music by the Awful Purdies and a visit by the Coralville Fire Department. Free community meal


"Minute to Win It" with the Police Department

Monday, June 24 | 2:00 pm

Teens, bring your friends and join local police officers to compete in a series of fun and crazy 60-second games that will test your skills against the clock! Minute to Win It

Wednesday, June 26 | 6:00 pm
