Deadline Approaches to Run for City Office

Mayor & two council seats on upcoming ballot

Coralville residents running for Mayor or City Council in the November 2019 City Election can file their candidacy with the Johnson County Auditor through September 19.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of 25 signatures from registered voters residing in Coralville on their petitions. City election

Bus open house

Hop on the Bus, Gus!

Learn how to ride public transit at bus open house

Friday, September 27 | 5:00-7:00 pm

Taking the bus is an efficient way to get around. But if you are not familiar with public transit, you might need help to know how, where, or when to catch the bus. 

That's why Coralville Transit is hosting a bus open house at the free community meal at Northwest Junior High.

Tour a bus, ask questions, and learn about the basics of bus riding. Discover how to transfer between Coralville's and Iowa City's transit systems, get information about Coralville's "Park and Ride" program, and try out the bus bike rack. Toby the talking bus will also make a special appearance! Bus open house

The Christians

September 20-22

Presented by City Circle Theatre Company. Pastor Paul's church has grown to a congregation of thousands, and Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundations of his church's belief. A big-little play about faith and the trouble with changing your mind.

National Library Card Sign up Month

In addition to traditional library services, a library card gives Coralville residents free access to ebooks, eaudiobooks, digital magazines, and a streaming video service. Your first card is free! If you lost your library card, get a free replacement during September. Library cards


Erase your library fines with food for fines

All September

Bring a donation this month to the library for the Coralville Community Food Pantry, and new or existing late fees on your account will be erased. Non-perishable foods, personal care items, or monetary donations are accepted. Food for fines


Luchadores in Iowa

Monday, September 16 | 6:00 pm

Miriam Alarcon Avila will talk about Luchadores Immigrants in Iowa, a photo documentary project that shares the challenges of immigrants of Latino heritage. A story time and poetry workshop will follow. Luchadores


Free film for adults: Green Book (PG-13)

Tuesday, September 24 | 6:00 pm

A bouncer from the Bronx is hired to drive a world-class black pianist on a concert tour through the Deep South during the time of racial segregation. Free film
